At the Darke Peak copper prospect there are minor concentrations of copper in thin shears parallel to the rock layering. The copper occurs near the surface as malachite and azurite in thin veins (average thickness 1 foot) having near vertical dip. No economic copper mineralisation is expected within these shears alone, but if cross-shears are related to the mineralisation, larger vein-sets might be expected to occur where these intersect; exposure of these intersections by bulldozing is warranted. Searching for the primary copper mineralisation would require drilling, but this is not recommended.
