The results of a seismic refraction survey conducted near outcropping granite in the Minnipa area have indicated that within the survey area the depth of overburden is generally less than 30 feet. Difficulty was experienced in determining the velocity of the overburden because of the presence of a high speed layer of calcrete near the surface. This problem was partly overcome by using larger shothole charges, of up to 2½ lbs of Geoflex, and by reducing the gain of the recording equipment.
