Foundation investigations for the proposed Chemistry Building, Forensic Laboratories in Kintore Avenue, were requested in a Minute from the Director, Public Buildings Department dated 1st September 1966. The proposed building is rectangular in shape, about 150 feet by 130 feet, and will probably be multistorey, with a basement. The investigation consisted of 2 diamond drillholes, 22 and 19 feet deep respectively. Located immediately to the south of the proposed building is the Public Library Building, constructed during 1964-1966. Geological logs of diamond drillholes put down from the floor of the Public Library excavation, and logs of some of the pier shafts, are included.
