Eight stratigraphic sections were measured on enlargements of air photos between Spalding and Cradock, up to 200 miles north or northeast of Adelaide. The rocks are mainly from the Umberatana, Burra and River Wakefield Groups of the Adelaide System. In the Weira Hill area thickness of these sequences reach a total of over 22,000 feet (6 700m). Some tentative correlations different from those depicted on the Orroroo 1:250 000 geological map are suggested; these include recognition of the Skillogalee Dolomite at the base of the sequence southwest of Carrieton.
