Three cable tool holes from 50 to 70 feet deep have been put down to determine foundation conditions for proposed extensions to the Port Pirie Hospital. The holes indicate a horizontal succession of approximately 12 feet of St. Kilda Formation overlying 8 feet of Glanville Formation. Below a depth of 20 feet the holes penetrated Hindmarsh Clay Formation.
