Four stratigraphic wells were drilled, totalling 5023 feet were drilled, Karkaro No. 1, Mount Furner No. 1, Wallira No 1 and Wallira No. 2 to verify Permian sediments and identify basement reflector. Results indicate shallow platform covered by thin Permian sequence on crystalline basement. Shallow platform area is edged by the Boorthanna, Phillipson and Wallira troughs which represent graben or half graben structures developed synchronous with early Permian deposition. Hydrocarbon prospects are marginal.
