Oxidized copper minerals and molybdenite occur in quartz veins cutting sericitized granodiorite 2 miles (3km) east of Bendigo Homestead. Coincident copper soil and I.P. anomalies were tested by drilling. A zone of probable secondary copper, mineralization was intersected; below this pyrite and minor chalcopyrite mineralization averages 300 ppm copper. The hydrothermal alteration of granodiorite and the type and distribution of sulphides suggest a porphyry copper environment. Further drilling is recommended.
