With the increasing interest shown in smaller scale, copper operations in South Australia, a further investigation into the possibilities of treating the remnant ore from the old Kapunda Mines was considered warranted. The deposit is estimated to contain approximately 6 million tons of ore of 0.7% copper, approximately two-thirds being in the sulphide form. In addition to the flotation studies reported by Weir (1971) , a study of the extraction technology used by copper producers and research organisations in Arizona, Utah and British Columbia was undertaken by the author. The report contains the information gathered on this tour.
