In October 1970 Amdel proposed to the South Australian Government Department of Mines that an allocation be transferred from Project 1/1/115; "Evaluation of Kapunda Ore"; to a new project in which the economics of various processes for hydrometallurgical recovery of copper were to be examined. The study was to consider small deposits of oxidised copper ore being worked at correspondingly low daily production rates. This has effectively reduced the scope of the study to sulphuric acid leaching plants, with a brief discussion of other alternatives.
