6 vertical rotary mud drillholes totalling 645 m were drilled south of the Bendigo prospect to test for suspected subcrop extensions of the Bendigo Granite beneath alluvium. The target areas were outlined by aeromagnetic anomalies. Two holes encountered granite at depths of 48 m and 117 m. The other four holes were terminated at 120 m in clays. Anomalous amounts of copper were detected in one hole. One hole, 51 m deep, was drilled in the Chalk Cliffs area to test a copper geochemical anomaly detected in siltstone cuttings from a water bore. Although drilled only 15 m from the existing water bore, the new hole did not reach bedrock.
