Calcrete, pisolitic ferricrete and deeply weathered metamorphic rocks from shallow roadside pits have been used for making unsealed roads in the Tumby Bay district. New sources of materials were sought on the basis of regional stratigraphy and structure. Favourable localities are described in addition to those at present being exploited. Location: Hundreds of Hutchison, Koppio, Stokes and Yaranyacka; County Flinders and Hundreds of Brooker, Butler, Dixon and Moody; County Jervois.
