Three cable-tool holes have been drilled to investigate foundation conditions for the proposed new Department of Mines Head Office, Parkside. location details are shown on Figure 1. Where appropriate, standard penetration tests were performed at nominal 1.5 metre intervals, and sealed tube samples recovered for subsequent laboratory testing. All three bores were completed with perforated p.v.c. liners and remain available as water level observation bores. Logs of bore boles and explanatory notes form Appendix 1.
