Investigations on general groundwater potential of the Hawker area were carried out with special attention being paid to the Hookina Creek, Worro Downs - Wonoka Creek, Glen Oak - Willow Creek, Mount Craig areas. An improved supply of water for the Hawker Township could probably be obtained from the Wilkawillina Limestone east of Hawker, in the proximity of Wonoka Creek, More detailed investigations could be required before the choosing of a water supply bore site. As alternatives to the Wilkawillina Limestone two other strata capable of providing a town supply are the Pound Quartzite and the Quaternary gravels, the latter in the Hookina Creek, Worro Downs area.
