Lucindale Test Hole No. 1 was drilled to test the yield and salinity of the Knight Group pressure aquifer. A supply of 18 litres/sec with a salinity of 1129 mg/1 was obtained. A transmissivity of 42 metre3/day/metre was calculated for a bore penetrating 60% of the Knight Group aquifer. The specific capacity of the bore was 0.7 litres/sec/metre. Due to incorrect siting, the bore was not developed for the town water supply and is now used for observation purposes. Water levels of the Knight Group aquifer recorded from February 1971 to May 1974 show a seasonal fluctuation of two metres due to recharge effects at the intake area.
