The Pualco Range is 45km south-south east of Yunta, South Australia, and contains 3300m of a formation (?Appila Tillite, Precambrian, Adelaidean) characterised by massive tillite with quartzite beds. This forms the base of the Umberatana Group and lies with regional unconformity on the Burra Group. The Benda Siltstone (440m) conformably overlies the tillite and is unconformably overlain by a predominantly greenish siltstone sequence (?Wilyerpa Formation) with basal dolomite. In the upper ?Appila Tillite and lower Benda Siltstone are hematite beds of the Braemar Iron Formation.
