Systematic soil sampling, plus ground magnetic traversing and some IP surveying, were carried out in the Trinity mine - King Dam area to investigate anomalous copper values in the shallow subsurface, previously reported in 1968 by Mines Administration Pty Ltd. Bedrock exposure here is poor, but the rocks as known from drilling and mine spoil are high grade metamorphics of the Willyama Complex. Approximately 3680 soil samples were collected and analysed for Cu using atomic absorption spectroscopy. Some samples were also analysed for Pb, Zn, Ni, Co and Au. A stratiform copper anomaly, having a length of at least 6 km and average width of 300 m, was found to be located in the area. It is probably antiformal in structure, with the Trinity mine workings located near the nose of the fold. An investigative drilling programme of 3 diamond drillholes and 5 rotary-percussion holes is recommended.
