A replacement bore was drilled by the Department of Mines in Section 1828, Hundred of Kanmantoo with completion at a depth of 61 m in quartz-biotite schists of the Kanmantoo Group. A standing water level of 4.37 m was recorded. Three stage pumping tests and a main 480 minute test were carried out with a maximum drawdown of 35 m measured at a rate of 1.75 litres/sec. The- salinity recorded at the end of the pumping tests was 3268 mg/1 which is suitable for all stock and salt tolerant crops on well-drained soils. Transmissivity values ranged from 10.5 m3/day/m calculated for the fractured bedrock aquifer close to the bore to 2.2 m3/day/m further from the bore beyond the localized fracture zones.
