A sample of restricted-marine shale from a pit dug approximately 16 km northeast of Coober Pedy, towards the southwestern margin of the Great Artesian Basin, contains a microfauna of agglutinated foraminifera including the Aptian zonal species Textularia anacooraensis Crespin. The shale apparently belongs to an un-named unit of possible member status (first noted on WARRINA) near the base of Bulldog Shale Keywords: Foraminifera, Cretaceous, Aptian, biostratigraphy, Bulldog Shale, Cadna-owie Formation, Marree Formation, environments.
