An exploratory town water supply bore and an observation bore were sunk on Section 722 Hundred of Wirrega for the township of Mundulla. A 72 hour aquifer test gave a value for Transmissivity (T) of 800 m3/day/m and a Storage Coefficient of 0.08...

An exploratory town water supply bore and an observation bore were sunk on Section 722 Hundred of Wirrega for the township of Mundulla. A 72 hour aquifer test gave a value for Transmissivity (T) of 800 m3/day/m and a Storage Coefficient of 0.08 for the Gambier limestone aquifer. Water quality in the aquifer deteriorated with depth and deliverable water is expected to have a conductivity of 1800 - 1900 microsiemens/cm and a temperature of 16 - 17°C. The water contains dissolved hydrogen sulphide probably requiring removal by aeration prior to distribution. The water is bacteriologically clean.
