Twenty four holes with a total combined penetration of 2443 m were drilled by cable tool and rotary techniques between Robin Rise and Marla Bore, to locate and supply water for the Tarcoola to Alice Springs railway project. The holes penetrated the Bulldog Shale and Cadna-owie Formation of Lower Cretaceous age. Fourteen holes were completed as productive wells, while ten were abandoned as unproductive.
