The existing water supply bore at the Naracoorte Caves Reserve has been successfully rehabilitated. Groundwater from this and a newly drilled standby bore is of usable quality for gardens and domestic purposes other than for drinking. However, water softeners are recommended where i t is used for washing of clothes or in boilers as hardness may be a problem. No pollution is apparent and supplies are adequate for existing demands. Both bores may require simultaneous operation in future peak periods.
