A water well survey of the eastern portion of the hundred of Yatala, located 355 wells of which 160 were visited. Well yields range from 10m3/day to 750m3/day, salinities from 50mg/1 to 3000mg/1 and standing water levels from ground level to 75.0m. There is a concentration of irrigation of fruit trees in the Paracombe-Inglewood areas. Many wells are not in use and a significant number have been lost through urbanisation in the Surrey Downs, Tea Tree Gully areas. Most present day drilling is related to quarrying operations in the Golden Grove, Athelstone areas.
