Approximately 180 water wells were located on the Gairdner and Childara sheets. The purpose of the survey was to obtain all relevant information, sample he groundwater and photograph all headworks. Groundwater is obtained from unconsolidated Quaternary sediments, Adelaidean rocks and Lower Proterozoic weathered basement. Well yields of all aquifers . range from 5 m?/day to 55 m3/day. Because of high salinities (2 000 mg/1 to 50 000 mg/1) well usage is governed by stock salt tolerances. There are not considered to be any problems
