Proterozoic (Marinoan) chocolate shales from 336.5 m in Coorie Appa Bore (Ludbrook, 1961), contained in 4 cuttings samples, down-hole contaminants of Early Permian (Stage 2) spores, pollen and algal cysts. These were sparse and corroded, consistent with derivation from the overlying Boorthanna and Stuart Range Formations. No further information on the age of the shales can be given.
