Very tight folding and remobilization of the Sturtian Holowilena Ironstone has produced a massive ironstone blow and small lenses of micaceous haematite. The haematitic quartz rock is not suitable for pigments, and lenses of haematite of pigment quality are too small to warrant exploitation. As the outcrop has significance in the mythology of the Ngadjuri Aboriginals, measures should be taken to protect the outcrop from further desecration.
