A proposed new group of 2000-tonne silos to be constructed alongside a railway line near Millicent will have their footings in limestone. 146 gravity stations on a 5 m grid have delineated a 10 m wide strip of possibly cavernous rock at depths of less than 5 m. The voids, if present, would be small and discontinuous. Better interpretation is not possible from the results because the gravity meter was operated at the limit of accuracy. Statistical improvement by repetition was not warranted since drilling is needed to verify foundation conditions.
