Geological data indicates deposits have similar Cu - U mineralization. The Mount Painter deposits occur in Radium Ridge Beds of Sturtian age unconformably overlying Radium Creek Metamorphics and underlying Mount Gee Beds. Recent work suggests these deposits are hydrothermal syngenetic, associated with Sturtian granitic rocks with about 10% K20. Both deposits are on the continental margins to the Adelaide Geosyncline. The density contrast between mineralized breccia at Mount Painter and other Adelaidean rocks should enable deposits similar to it to be detected by gravity surveys.
