In an attempt to locate the possible source of increased salinity in groundwater occurring in the Virginia area, conductivity logging of bores was instituted both before and after the introduction of low salinity water inside the bore casing column. Minor leakage was detected in some of the casings, but in most cases the problem is due to the bore casing string terminating considerably above the main aquifer.
