Seven gravity traverses were established along roads immediately west of the Eden-Burnside fault zone in the Magill, Burnside and Parkside districts. By relating the observed gravity minima to increased thicknesses of Quaternary sediments (clays and dirty sands), two areas possessing thinner Quaternary cover above the Tertiary sediments have been identified. These areas appear to be the most suitable for locating aquifers at shallow depths.
