Water supplies for the proposed camp for the Honeymoon mining operation will be obtained from groundwater, and a well has been completed in the upper Sand Unit aquifer. The capacity of the well is more than adequate for the anticipated camp/stock requirements, with a tested yield of over 100 kl/day. A Transmissivity of 16 cubic m/day/m and a Storage Coefficient of 28,000 have been estimated for the semi-confined (leaky) aquifer. The groundwater radium 226 and total dissolved solids concentrations of 4-6 pci/1 and 10,500 mg/1 respectively did not alter significantly during the 36 hr duration main test. Prospects of contamination from radium-rich groundwater from the ore zone are thought to be negligible, especially with an intermittent pumping programme.
