Object was to upgrade MgO to 30% and to improve colour of talc. Work included flotation tests and mineralogy. The low grade talc sample was contaminated with albite feldspar, but responded well to flotation to give concentrate containing 97.5% talc and 1.4% feldspar. Corresponding talc recovery was 75%. The whiteness cannot be improved because of ferrous iron within the talc lattice.
