Geological mapping has defined a northeasterly fault trend in the Radium Creek Metamorphics and Older Granite Suite basement. Pods of granitic breccia have developed along these faults, and to the east and NE of Mount Painter, they contain uraniferous haematite. The granitic breccias of the known uranium prospects show similar textural and mineralogical characteristics, but their larger size and non-linear shape suggests different genesis.
