Since 1972, 13.5 tonnes of copper ore have been handpicked from malachite and azurite on cleavage planes exposed in trenches in Tarcowie Formation siltstone of Marinoan age, 7 km south of Orroroo. The deposit was sketched, mapped and 9 samples taken.
