A bottomhole drill cuttings sample obtained from a newly drilled water bore at Seacliff has been examined for the purpose of biostratigraphic correlation of the limestone aquifer sediments. It was determined from foraminiferal species assemblage evidence that a black clay horizon underlying the limestone bed represents the lower to middle Miocene Munno Para Clay Member of the Port Willunga Formation, while the limestone itself is middle Miocene Port Willunga Formation proper.
