Reserves of Permian sand in excess of 2.0 million tonnes were indicated by drilling of 5 auger holes. Most of the sand is too fine grained for structural concrete, and is unsuitable for glass and foundry use. Some of the sand is suitable as garden soil after addition of organic matter. A possible base to the deposit was reached in only 1 hole, and further drilling is required to fully evaluate the area.
