Survey for alternative sources to the traditional pit in the Morgan Conservation Park, located potential deposit in the Murray River valley, 7 km east of Morgan and 2 other sources nearby. However, this deposit is inferior to the Morgan pit and drilling is required to evaluate the deposit. Mining at these sites would require removal of overburden, creating visual scar in environmentally sensitive area. 2 other deposits are too fine to warrant further investigation. Negotiations with the Department of Environment are recommended to find an acceptable method for mining the existing pit.
