At Turley Lode, barite infills steeply dipping fractures in Brachina Formation siltstone, within graben adjacent to the Oraparinna Diapir. To the south, the Southern Lode and Nicholls Deposit, both on the contact between Etina Formation shale and the Oraparinna Diapir, barite infills pods and small veins, and occurs as broken fragments in the diapiric breccia. Turley Lode is the largest, with production at 15000 tonnes from 1968 - 1972. At all 3 deposits, barite meets oil drilling grade specifications, but locally carbonate and iron oxide content are excessive. No economic ore remains in any of the deposits.
