Relatively hard bed of Kanmantoo Group schist has been source of road stone and aggregate in quarry 3 km west of Victor Harbor since 1958, and previously as source of rubble. Crushed rock and rubble meet specifications, but the quality of chippings for sealing aggregate is marginal due to biotite content and weak foliation. Production from 1967 - 1979 totalled 515 000 tonnes, and in situ reserves are 2 500 000 tonnes.
