The effects of pumping from the main aquifer for 20 years at 900 L/sec from hypothetical well 125 km north of Marree, have been simulated using the GABHYD computer program of the BMR. Results indicate that effects outside SA will be minimal and that only small number of flowing wells within the State will show measurable effect in terms of reduced flow. Water quality should not change over 20 years. Effects on mound springs appear to be relatively minor.
