10 000 tonnes of talc were produced since 1942. Talc and albite were formed by metasomatism within zones of intense shearing in metasediments of the Undalya Quartzite (Stonyfell Quartzite) and Woolshed Flat Shale. The lode comprises 52% talc, with albite - talc, albite and quartzite. Most of the ore is third grade, with some second grade, if iron stained material is removed. Further underground mining is not possible due to instability of the workings. 70 000 tonnes of ore are indicated to depth of 52 metres, the base of the old workings. Below this, 1500 tonnes per vertical metre is expected.
