McRae deposits are located 10 km SW of the Oraparinna barite mine, on the western flank of Loves Mine Range. The southern deposit, no. 1 lode, has discontinuous strike length of 200 metres, 1.5 metres thick, emplaced along a fault in the Wilyerpa Formation. 4500 tonnes of industrial and oil drilling grade barite have been mined. Indicated reserves are 5200 tonnes inferred reserves of 36 500 tonnes. Silica and iron content exceed industrial specifications. No. 2 lode is unworked , with strike length of 160 metres and 1.5 metres thick. Inferred reserves are 15 500 tonnes, with superior quality to no. 1 lode, meeting all industrial grade specifications except for iron content.
