The aim was to core Palaeozoic units occurring between Late Jurassic (Polda Formation) and Precambrian basement rocks. The hole was abandoned at 369 metres well before the prognosed basement depth of 650 metres. Intersected were : 2 metres of Quaternary, 18 metres of Tertiary (Poelpena Formation), 170 metres of Late Jurassic (Polda Formation) and 181 metres of Early Permian (unnamed). The total thickness of the Permian is unknown. Permian sediments intersected are equated tentatively with non prospective glacigene sediments of Early Permian (Stage 2) age in the Troubridge and Arckaringa Basins.
