In December, 1979 a display of selected drillcore from the Gawler Craton, South Australia, was exhibited at the core Library complex of the South Australian Department of Mines and Energy. It was organised by the Geological Society of Australia (SA Division) and the S. Aust. Department of Mines and Energy and was held in conjunction with a symposium on the geology of the Gawler Craton at the Australian Mineral Foundation. This collection of drillhole logs was produced for the display. Only a limited number of copies were produced at the time but due to numerous requests the collection of logs has been reproduced here annotated with several photographs taken by J. Parker of the Regional Geology Section. It is planned to ultimately produce a more comprehensive set of drillhole logs and photographs.
