The drilling of a further 16 rotary holes, as part of continuing investigations by the E&WS Department into the effect of groundwater on River Murray salinity, has indicated that the northern and north-western limits of the Tertiary limestone unit extend from Morgan Vale to Pine Valley and to Redcliffe. Accurate salinity, potentiometric heads and lithological data have been defined for 2 Tertiary aquifers.
