The geomorphology of DALHOUSIE broadly consists of stony uplands which include mound springs in the west, and dunefield lowlands in the east on the edge of the Simpson Desert. Strongly folded ?Adelaidean sediments are overlain by a more gently folded sequence of stacked sedimentary basins of Cambrian to Cainozoic age. Only groundwater is of economic interest, but there may be potential for hydrocarbons.
