69 auger holes (303 metres) have shown deposit (2.9 km long, 300 x 400 metres wide and 2 x 10 metres thick) of coarse sand in Pleistocene Bridgewater Formation, largely on State Forest Reserve. Of existing pits, Proviss pit was closed and Gartners pit has probable reserves of only 25 000 tonnes of concrete sand and 30 000 tonnes of fine construction sand.
