Weathered shale within the Adelaidean Stonyfell Quartzite has produced in excess of 80 000 tonnes for brick manufacture from 1958 to 1978. Auger drilling of 7 holes (52 metres) and mapping, indicate reserves of 180 000 tonnes of weathered shale.
