Description of 16 visual presentation slides. Recent exploration emphasises the potential within SA for epigenetic sulphide mineralisation precipitated as open space fillings in shallow water carbonate sediments formed on the margins of large basins, its base metal source probably provided by brines derived from sediments in the basin centre. The Wilkawillina Limestone is a likely host unit as it has suitable lithology, being located on the margins of a large deep basin where it is overlain by shale which may provide an impermeable cap rock, and also is bounded by a marked facies change which may be a favourable setting for inducing mineralisation to form.
