Sandstone cemented by limonite near Cockatoo Bore represents the uppermost unit of Algebuckina Sandstone (Late Jurassic or Early Cretaceous). 2 sandstones replaced by haematite from Finniss Springs station represent either Cadna-owie Formation or basal Bulldog Shale (Early Cretaceous). All the specimens were iron enriched, probably in the same iron mineralization process.
