Time series techniques can be used to produce empirical models of variations in piezometric water table heads of aquifers. Results varying from poor to very good were obtained. Failure of the technique for some of the wells was due mainly to either very small water level fluctuations with time, or non-linear relationships between effective rainfall and water levels.
